In November of 2018, our friend, whom we had first met at the Toronto JET orientation, and whom we hadn’t seen since the initial Tokyo orientation, came to visit us from the not-too-far prefecture of Gifu! We spent the weekend bringing her to all the local tourist spots, favourite restaurants, and our favourite little craft village. While at the craft village, we tried our hand(s) at making pottery on a pottery wheel! It was really fun and although the bowls turned out a little small, we’ve already made good use of them! We ended up going to Kenrokuen once again, and the fall colours looked really beautiful.
