The second destination during our vacation of December 2018 was Vietnam. We had long heard about the bustling city culture, delicious food, and breathtaking natural scenery, and wanted to get a taste of what Vietnam had to offer. We stayed for a couple of nights in Hanoi, eating our way through the streets, taking photos of the BEAUTIFUL Ha Long Bay where we met a couple of new friends, and even got to experience a nation-wide celebration following an important football (soccer) match!
What I really loved about Hanoi and Vietnam was that there was so much to see everywhere we went. There was so much life on the streets; vendors selling various food items or trinkets, shop owners serving hungry customers, farmers carrying produce through town, and of course, scooters zipping left and right as they wove in and out of traffic. Whereas our lives now and in Japan were pretty quiet and serene, Hanoi was buzzing with energy and activity, and no 2 seconds looked the same on any street.
